Finlay and Rory

February 16, 2010

Rory and Finlay playing with trains.

Today I travelled to Huddersfield to photograph Jon and Jayne with their gorgeous little boys, Finlay and Rory. Jon received the portrait shoot voucher as a Christmas gift from his lovely sister Susan.

We spent hours capturing the family enjoying time together, reading, tickling and playing with toys. – and not forgetting Finlay’s beloved trains!

We used mainly the family home as the back drop for the images, and also shot a few on the black background.

“Thanks Jayne and Jon for being so great today, you were all a pleasure to meet and work with. I hope you like your sneak preview in to the shoot, I have many more images that I am delighted with, to show you in your private viewing next week, see you soon, Gemma”

Sam, Elliot and Maddy

February 15, 2010

Snuggles on the sofa

On Saturday 13th February, I travelled to York to photograph Helen and Neil and their children Sam, Elliot and little Maddy.  What a fun and action packed shoot! The children were brilliant to photograph, and we captured so many different aspects of their personalities and characters.  We shot so many different scenes, including bouncing on the bed, snuggles on the sofa, splashing in puddles, and bubbles in the bath!

I am so pleased with the results and can’t wait to show the family the images in their private viewing next week.

‘Helen & Neil, thank you so much for booking me for your family portrait shoot, you should be so proud of your gorgeous children, they were absolutely great to work with and I hope you are happy with the images in this sneak preview! see you soon, Gemma.’

Finn and Sacha’s portrait shoot

February 7, 2010

Sacha & Finn against the photography block that I captured of Finn 4 years ago!

Yesterday, I was excited to be booked for the second time, by Annick and Henrik in Leeds. I last photographed them with their son Finn in 2006.  They now have another gorgeous little boy called Sacha.

Finn & Sacha

After a quick chat and a catch up over a cup of tea, we soon got going with the shoot!  We spent hours shooting a variety of images using the family home as the backdrop, and finished the shoot with a series of images against the black backdrop.

I had such a great time photographing them all, Finn & Sasha are absolutely gorgeous, and I am sure Henrick and Annick are so proud of their lovely family.

Here are just a few of the images from the shoot, as I want to save plenty of images to surprise the family with at their private viewing this week.

Thanks Annick & Henrik for booking me again, I hope your like your sneak preview!

Gemma and Marks family December 2009

December 8, 2009

Ellie Mae - the most ladylike dog in the world!

On Saturday the 5th December I travelled to Stamford Bridge, York, to photograph Gemma, Mark, Will, Holly, cousin Rhys and their dogs – Murphy and Ellie Mae.  Gemma and Mark made me feel so welcome in their lovely home, and the children were brilliant. Will was hilarious and made me laugh a lot! and gorgeous little Holly was an absolute star too, so quiet! and patient, and a real cutey pie.

Will’s best mate and cousin Rhys joined in for a few shots too – he was a pleasure to photograph. and looked super cool in his favourite football kit,  posing in the garden.

Rhys - a star in the making

Mark has built a fantastic wooden boat/play centre in the garden, which we used for a fun and interesting back drop. Some of my favourite images taken on the boat have to be of their beautiful and ladylike dog Ellie Mae – who looks like a stuffed head in a shooting gallery! She was very shy and hated getting her feet wet on the soggy grass! and walked just like a deer! … a brilliant dog.

We captured some fun and natural images of the family and the 3 children together for grandparents. Then ventured in to the garden to for a different setting. We finished off the shoot by by capturing some girly shots of beautiful Holly and her fabulous mummy Gemma in the bedroom. – featuring Holly’s favourite passtime of playing with her own feet!

Holly and her favourite toys ... her feet!

I captured so many images in this shoot that I love, and can’t wait to show the family in the new year.

“Thanks Gemma and Mark, for booking this shoot, I hope you like your preview of the images! have a fantastic Christmas, and I will see you in the new year! ”

Holly and her many expressions!

Baby Madisyn and a boat

December 7, 2009

The fabulous boat made a great setting.

On Friday 4th Dec, I ventured to Silsden to photograph Linda, Clive, their daughter Krista, and Granddaughter Madisyn.  Linda and Clive have a fantastic boat at the end of their garden, which made a great setting for some of the family images.  The swans even joined in for a few shots!

I had a lovely time photographing this family, they had some brilliant ideas, including the bubble bath shots and the teddy bear pile on!

Baby Madisyn was a pleasure to photograph, she is such a sweetie, so patient, adorable and absolutely gorgeous!  We captured so many different sides to Madisyn and some  beautiful moments between Madisyn and her fabulous mummy Krista.  We also got proud Grandma Linda and Grandpa Clive in quite a few different images.

The family will be viewing the images in January, so this is a little preview for them before the big reveal!

Thanks Linda and Clive for booking this shoot, you made me feel so welcome in your home, Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas! see you soon …..
